How do you watch house hunters?

Carlson Leaman May 23, 2023
How do you watch house hunters?

How do you watch house hunters?, I’ve always wondered why the House Hunters shows are so popular. The answer is simple: they’re fun to watch. However, some people have questioned whether the show is real or not. Who are the people on this show? Are they really house hunters? Or are they actors playing a role in an elaborate scheme to fool us all?

We don’t know who actually buys the houses (because they’re all sold before filming). The show is not really about house hunters finding that perfect house; it’s about America’s love of HGTV.”

I believe all the listings are already sold.

There’s a good chance you have been watching House Hunters for years without knowing it was fake. I’m sure you’ve seen the show and thought “this is depressing,” or “I could never afford that much house,” or even “if only I had a big family, we would be able to live in one of those beautiful homes.” But what if I told you that all those houses are already sold? And what if I told you that all these dramas are staged to entertain us, not teach us how to buy a house?

When I first started watching HGTV with my husband, who also happens to be a realtor in San Francisco (and has worked with most of the agents on House Hunters), he pointed out that many of their clients were actors and that they worked with producers who helped them come up with storylines. This revelation made me angry at first – because why do they need actors when we’ll still buy their products anyway?!

But now when I watch one of my favorite shows on TLC, DIY Rescue or Rattled: Renovation Rules!, which follow contractors as they renovate homes for needy families, my perspective has changed because I know there are behind-the-scenes people involved who make everything look perfect. Sometimes it’s hard not to judge someone whose home is falling apart but ends up looking amazing after being fixed up by professionals!

The people are actors.

You’re not crazy, and it is totally possible to watch house hunters without knowing that the people are all actors. In fact, you might be surprised how easy it is to do so!

If you’ve never seen this show before—and if so, I would like to encourage you to give it a shot—you should know that when the buyer says “This place is perfect!”, they already know that it’s perfect because all of these listings are already sold. The only ones who don’t know where the house will end up going are us viewers who get our hopes up for new homeowners every season.

It’s not really about house hunters finding that perfect house; it’s about America’s love of HGTV and our desire to see others achieve their dreams through renovation projects or smaller purchases like buying furniture or decorating accessories at thrift stores (or even buying them on Amazon). Do you laugh? Cry? Cringe? All three at once? You may also find yourself wondering: Did I always know what HGTV shows were fake?

The real estate agents are actors.

Don’t worry, you’re not crazy. The agents are actors and not real estate professionals. In fact, they are paid to act as if they’re working with the production company—but they’re not licensed in any of the states where the show is filmed. And, because HGTV requires them to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA), you won’t see any of these agents at open houses or on social media promoting their work.

The lesson? Don’t trust everything you see on TV!

where to watch house hunters

If you don’t know how to watch House Hunters, it can be a little confusing. People are always asking: How do I watch House Hunters? Where can I watch House Hunters? How can I watch House Hunters on my iPhone? What does HGTV stand for? (HGTV stands for Home & Garden Television.)

If you have these questions, then read on to learn more about the show and where to find it.

where can i watch house hunters

There are a lot of ways to watch House Hunters, and today we’re going to look at the best ones.

First up is the HGTV app. You can download it for iOS or Android by clicking here for iOS and here for Android. It’s free, but if you’re not an AT&T customer or have a Cricket plan (which uses your phone number as a login), then you’ll need to get access from someone who is either AT&T or Cricket in order to use this method.

The next way I’ll mention is Hulu Plus, which has some episodes of House Hunters available on its site if you pay $5 per month to subscribe—or $45 per year! This isn’t ideal because once again, accessing content via Hulu requires that you have an internet connection and/or cable subscription with one of their partners (ABC Family). However, it’s definitely possible since they do offer some full seasons of shows like Full House and The Golden Girls! If neither option works out for you then there are more options still…

There are several ways you can watch House Hunters:

  • Watch it on YouTube. This is the easiest way to watch, but it’s also the most restricted. You must be logged in with a Google account to use this feature and it only works on desktop computers and mobile devices (not tablets or gaming consoles). To watch a video, click on its title and then click “Watch Now” or “Watch Later.”
  • If you want to save your favorite videos for later viewing or sharing with friends, click on the settings icon (three dots) in the upper right-hand corner of each player window that appears when you play each video. There are no ads interrupting your viewing experience unless they’re embedded into YouTube’s own website code.
  • Watch House Hunters episodes on Netflix Canada. With a subscription plan at $7 per month, users get access to millions of hours worth of content including TV shows (including old seasons), movies, documentaries and even standup comedy specials! This means that if there’s something specific about real estate available for streaming—like an entire series devoted entirely towards finding homes around North America—you’ll find exactly what interests you!
  • Netflix subscribers also receive exclusive benefits like early access to new releases as well as special features from filmmakers themselves discussing new projects coming soon; these extras will never appear anywhere else except through official channels set up by creators themselves!

where can i watch house hunters international

You can watch House Hunters International on the HGTV website. You can also find it on the official HGTV app and Amazon Prime Video. If you’re a Netflix subscriber, you’ll be able to watch it there as well!

We don’t know who actually buys the houses (because they’re all sold before filming).

This is the reality of the situation. We love this show because it’s entertaining, but we also watch it to learn about how to buy a house or renovate one. However, that’s not what this show is about! It’s more like: “Let’s stage some drama in order to entertain people!”

The reason why you don’t see any houses bought on House Hunters is because all of them are sold before filming begins. When they start looking at homes, agents will call sellers and offer them a deal—and then they’ll sell the houses without actually showing up on camera.

When you’re watching House Hunters, you’re learning how America views real estate transactions and not how real estate transactions work; it seems like everyone has their own agenda when looking at homes (some want privacy while others want an open floor plan). So it’s really important to take what these people say with a grain of salt because everything is staged for your entertainment!

The show is not really about house hunters finding that perfect house; it’s about America’s love of HGTV.

The show is about America’s love for HGTV, as much as it is about house hunters finding that perfect home. The channel has some great shows, and House Hunters is one of them. They have other great shows too, like Property Brothers and Fixer Upper.

This article from The Atlantic explains how the show has become so popular: “It’s not just any old design show; the network calls it ‘the most-watched real estate program in cable television history.’ According to Nielsen ratings for 2017, an average of 1 million viewers watch each episode.”

The article goes on to say that “House Hunters International” is actually one of their highest-rated shows ever!

All these dramas are staged to entertain us, not to teach us how to buy a house.

We see it all the time—people say, “Oh I watch House Hunters!” But it turns out their favorite show isn’t actually about house hunters finding that perfect house; it’s about America’s love of HGTV. You know what I mean: The people are actors. The real estate agents are actors. All these dramas are staged to entertain us, not to teach us how to buy a house.

So how do you watch House Hunters?

Well, if you want a laugh, I recommend watching and seeing just how far people go for their dream home: Do they cry? Laugh? Cringe? If you want my advice on what makes for good entertainment on a Saturday night (and who doesn’t?), let me tell you…

Do you laugh, cry or cringe?

If you’ve ever watched the popular HGTV show House Hunters, there are a few things that will never fail to make you laugh, cry and cringe. There is something so funny about people who can afford $1 million homes going on a reality TV show to find more expensive real estate. Then again, there are also some people who want to live in tiny spaces for no other reason than “I want it!” I love seeing how people react when they see how expensive things are in other cities. Their reactions range from mild surprise to shock that their dream home costs way more than they were willing to pay for it!

On the flip side of this coin is the show where someone has spent years saving money for their own house but now finds out that they need another $100K just because their city has become so popular that prices have skyrocketed in recent years (this happens every single time). These poor souls always end up crying because they feel like they won’t be able to get what they’ve been dreaming about all along—and then some couple comes along who buys something even smaller than theirs but gets offered almost double its original price tag!

Do you look at price tags and judge them?

Do you look at the price tag and judge it?

You might find yourself asking, “Is this too expensive?” or “I can’t afford that!”

Or maybe you think, “Wow, they paid a lot less than I thought they would!”

Either way, it’s important to know that no matter what your opinion is on the cost of a house hunter’s potential home purchase—and even if it differs from mine—we’re all in this together.

Did you always know what HGTV shows were fake?

Did you always know what HGTV shows were fake?

I knew that some of the shows were fake, but I didn’t know which ones.

I knew they were all fake, but I didn’t know why.

I didn’t know any of them were fake, but that’s not because they aren’t fake—it’s just because I never saw an episode before today.

I always knew some of them were fake, and now I’m going to tell you about it in great detail for no reason whatsoever!

Who is your dream house hunters couple?

The couple that has a good sense of humor

The couple that is fun to watch

The couple that is relatable

The couple that we want to be our friends

Do you ever get tired of the renovations HGTV shows like to do?

Yes. It’s a lot of work and it can be stressful, but it’s also so fun to watch. The people who do this for a living are skilled craftsmen and women. They’re creative and they love what they do!

HOWEVER: what I don’t like about the renovations is that HGTV always makes it look so easy when in reality it’s not. Many times I will see something that looks like an easy fix (like a loose tile) only to find out that the whole house needs re-grouting because some tiles were installed incorrectly by someone else years ago (weirdly enough) or something like that… So yes, renovations are expensive and time consuming but I’ve learned from watching House Hunters International (and others) over time that if you want something done right then hire qualified professionals who enjoy doing what they do most of all!

Would you rather watch it at night or in the morning?

  • Do you prefer to watch House Hunters while it’s dark outside, or is the sunrise more your thing?
  • If you have kids, do they need to be asleep before you can start watching?
  • Does your sleep schedule depend on when the show airs?

TV is fun!

TV is a form of entertainment, escapism, relaxation and education. That’s what I love about it. It can be mindless fun or something that challenges you to think differently—either way, it helps us learn more about the world we live in.

Conclusion

I think we’re all smarter than the shows we watch, and I think most of us know this. But I also believe that there are a lot of people out there who don’t know—and that’s okay. We can still enjoy House Hunters without knowing the full story behind it (or any other HGTV show), but if you do want to learn more about how these shows are made, take a look at some of our resources below!
